The Pilot's House of Långören
On the island of Långören in the Eastern archipelago, there is the old Pilot's house that offers a different and exciting hostel experience.
Welcome to the Pilot's house and hostel of Långören!
Do you want to enjoy the archipelago of Blekinge and see the sun rise and set over the ocean? Then Långören is a perfect place! Here one can stay for a few days or even whole weeks. The hostel is simple but has a cosy standard. There is electricity in the building but water is retrieved from the tap outside of the house. There are also two compost toilets outside. The beddings are included and barbeque and outdoor furniture is available.
The island has a lot of nice environments to enjoy the ocean. There are two swimming areas: on the Eastern side of the island (rocks) with an amazing sunrise and on the West side of the island (a jetty with a ladder) with a great view of the sunset.
Remember that there is are no shops on the island, closest one is on the mainland of Torhamn.
The buildings of the hostel are cultural monuments, therefore it is not possible to make any adaptations for accessibility, so there are stairs, tresholds, and narrow doors.
Besides the hostel there is also a posibility to book conference rooms for about 20 people in the ground floor of the building. The Mission House of Långören is also available for meetings and ceremonies.
The pilot station of Långören was in use until the year of 1960 when it was closed down. In 1996, the building became a cultural monument and a few years ago ot became a hostel that is operated by the community association of Långören.
There is an ferry that goes to and from the island. The time table for the archipelago traffic can be found on the website of Affärsverken and in the app of Blekingetrafiken.
The operation is run on a non-profit basis, and all proceeds goes to the operation and maintenance of the Pilot's House and the Mission House.
